Rules of participation in the Competition
- Nominations can be submitted (by sending completed nomination forms) by non-governmental organizations: foundations and associations (except for corporate foundations).
- The title is granted to state-owned and private firms and corporate foundations supporting (not only financially) activities of non-governmental organizations.
- The "Benefactor of the Year" title is awarded in four categories: education; ecology; culture and art.; social welfare and human rights protection. The Selection Committee is also entitled to award Special Prize in any category.
- The title is granted for accomplishments of the previous year.
- Any organization may appoint more than one candidate (by submitting separate nomination letters).
- The candidate must be informed about the nomination (written authorization is not necessary).
- The Competition Selection Committee decides on the number of awards
- The Committee Member may not vote or speak on behalf of the nominating organization with which he/she has any formal or informal bonds that would suggest partiality.
- Nominations can be submitted to the office of the Acedemy for the Development of Philanthropy, by regular mail.
Only nomination letters that meet the above criteria shall be examined by the Selection Committee; otherwise names of nominated companies/foundations will not be included in the informational materials.

What benefits result from the "Benefactor of the Year" award?
Winners and those honorably mentioned have a right to include the information on the award in their informational materials and promotional campaigns. Moreover, the name of the company or corporate foundation shall be included in promotional materials of the given Competition edition and, as to our abilities, in all the media releases devoted to the "Benefactor of the Year" Competition.
