The place of operation of the Community Foundation of the Elblag Region primarily is the city of Elblag, population of over 130,000, but also the Elblag region, with nine neighboring communes of the Elblag rural county. In total, the foundation covers the area of over 180,000 residents.

Successes:

>> Building a capital endowment of $169,000, including two funds: the Unrestricted Fund and the Scholarship Fund, both comprising roughly half of the endowment.
>> 78 grants worth a total $23,600 were paid out;
>> 233 scholarships worth a total $51,300 were awarded.

In 2002, six grant and scholarship programs were executed: the Program of Citizens' Initiatives, the "Way of LIVING and a Way of BEING," the Scholarship Program "Chance," the program "Safety Pin," Bridging Scholarships Program, and the Philanthropist of the Year competition (third edition). In the future the CF plans to introduce two permanent grant. Since 2002 CF has been implementing the program "Elbląg Publication of the Year" and a Scholar's Club.
