People aged sixty or over constitute almost
17 per cent of the Polish society.
However, the number of senior citizens does not directly correlate with the strength and position of this social group.
In face of the ageing process of the Polish society, supporting the senior movement seems the challenge of our times.
The process of integrating Poland with the European Union poses new challenges not only for the young, but also for the elderly.
Therefore, we think it is essential:
- that Polish seniors do not feel excluded in the new, enlarged Europe.
- that Polish seniors are well informed about the changes taking place in their country.
- that senior organisations work effectively in European structures.
