Guide for Polish NGOs

With the help of our partners and seminar participants we prepared 1400 copies of a free textbook "Count us in! Senior Citizens in the European Union". The publication is addressed to organisations and institutions working with the elderly.

Publication contents:
- information on the proceedings and the effects of project realisation
- Policy of Polish government concerning the elderly
- How does the EU function? (basic information, EU social policy, allowances and old-age pensions in the EU)
- What do we know about age discrimination? (How do the elderly themselves perceive the problem of age discrimination?, Age discrimination and the EU policy. Implementing anti-age discrimination EU regulations in Polish law)
- How to change the image of old age? (ideas on how to change the image of old age issuing from project participants)
- How to strengthen the position of elderly citizens in the process of decision making? (presentation of experiences from the United Kingdom)
- How to develop voluntary work for and with the elderly? (presentation of experiences from France and Poland)
- How to live long and in full health? (EU health policy, Polish health service and the needs of elderly citizens)
- European federations working for elderly citizens.

The publication enabled us to share with others all the ideas brought up during the implementation of the project.
